Cub Scout Camping Frequently Asked Questions
Day Camp is a great in-town adventure that every Cub Scout should participate in. Cub Scouts participate as Dens, get the chance to meet other Scouts from around the area while they enjoy a variety of Cub Scout activities in a local park, school or similar facility. The Cub Scout arrives and leaves the camp facility each day, while the program is facilitated by adult volunteers and Boy Scout Den Chiefs. Your Pack Camping Coordinator has more information. Resident camp is weekend adventure with overnight camping for your Cub Scout! This summer head to the in full-time adventure of Cub Scouting. Located at Fire Mountain Scout Camp, many exciting adventures are awaiting you and your young Cub during your stay at Resident Camp. Enjoy the excitement of exploring the many activity areas such as BB guns, archery, swimming, boating, crafts, nature, and advancement. This event is perfect for all Webelos Scouts, however any Cub Scout can attend. We are sure that this experience will be one of the highlights in your Cub Scout career. What is Fun Fest, and Fun with Son? Great for Tigers, Wolves, and Bears, but open to Cubs of all ages, Fun Fest and Fun with Son are one day / one night adventures you and your Cub Scout won’t want to miss. One on one activities will give you and your Cub a brief introduction of what is available at Fire Mountain Scout Camp. With an amazing staff to help with the fun, enjoy the excitement of exploring the many activity areas, boat, wade, and fish the beautiful Lake Challenge, enjoy the many nature trails, sing around the campfire, and of course, the adventure of sleeping in a tent, snug in your sleeping bag. These programs are not offered every year. Cub Scout Fun Fest has been canceled to accommodate Scouts to attend the Day Camp and Resident Camp Programs in 2012. When and Where are Day Camps Held? Day camps are held throughout the summer with many locations near you. Below you will find a list of day camps by district as well as contact information. Can my Scout attend more than one camp? Absolutely! While day camps offer the same program from camp to camp, the events are quite different at Fire Mountain for Resident Camp, Fun Fest, and Fun with Son. Your Scout will have plenty of variety and a load of fun by attending multiple camps this year. What are the costs for each event?
Registration fees include food, program, and a T-shirt for your Scout. In addition, many of the camps offer early registration discounts. Please visit the website for more information. * Note, We do not provide T-shirts for the Fun with Son event. What options are available to help a Scout pay for summer camp? The Mount Baker Council believes every boy should have the opportunity to attend a summer camp. We have money set aside specifically to provide Scouts in need with the funding necessary to attend summer camp. These “Camperships,” combined with fundraising opportunities, ensures all Scouts can attend our camps.
