Congratulations on being elected! You’re more than likely to have some questions. This web article aims to answer all of them and more. So sit back relax let your eyes do the readin’ your brain do the thinking and soak up all this article has to offer you.

When can I go through my ordeal?

That is a good question, our lodge offers two ordeals a year the first is in March, normally on the third weekend of that month. The second Ordeal opportunity is in the fall the first weekend of October. Ordeals are held at our Scout Camp and location is dependent on project and time of year. Refer to the Candidate letter link above for the latest on dates and locations.

Why is the Ordeal Kept a Secret?

This is probably the number one question asked of members in the Order of the Arrow. The question’s answer is quite simple. Experience, If we told you everything that was to happen to you on your journey through the ordeal than you will not get the full experience. The ordeal is a chance for a candidates to reflect on scouting and grow not only in their leadership but at as a person.

What should I bring to the Ordeal?

Ten Essentials (minus extra food), Sleeping Bag, Sleeping Pad, Tarp, Tent with ground cloth, Work clothes, Work gloves, Full Class A Scout Uniform (for Saturday afternoon), Scout Medical form (Parts A and C required), $40, DO NOT BRING ANY ELECTRONICS OR FOOD. ALL YOUR FOOD WILL BE PROVIDED. It is my advice that you just bring a tarp for Friday night.

When does Ordeal End?

The ordeal officially ends at 9:00pm on Saturday night. Although we do have post ordeal fellowship program scheduled until 10:00 AM Sunday morning and we encourage all those who can to stay until Sunday morning.

What is a Sikhs Mox Lamonti Anyway?

Sikhs Mox Lamonti just so happens to be the lodge name for Mount Baker Councils Order of the Arrow program. The name is Native American for “Brothers of Two Mountains” the name comes from the unique fact that our council has two wonderful camps that we service and take care of.
