Be A Scout Day is hosted by the Mount Baker Council in conjunction with the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America’s Family Fun Fest. While Family Fun Fest should give you and your family a glimpse of the fun and adventure that Scouting offers, Be A Scout Day adds to these activities with some of our own local Pacific Northwest Scouting flavor so that you have a better idea of what Scouting is like her in the Mount Baker Council.

As a part of the Be A Scout Day schedule we are also working to offer you the opportunity to meet virtually with local Cub Scout Packs and Scout leaders.

We hope that through the course of Be A Scout Day you can develop a good idea of the adventure that waits for you in SCOUTING!

Our Mission

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scout Oath

On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law

A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

What is Cub Scouts?

Boys and Girls

K- 5th Grade

Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family.  In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

What is Scouts BSA?

Scouts BSA is the traditional Scouting experience for youth in the fifth grade through high school. Service, community engagement and leadership development become increasingly important parts of the program as youth lead their own activities and work their way toward earning Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
