2010 NSJ Registration Process for Local Councils

NOW LIVE!!!! We have rolled out a new online registration system for the 2010 National Scout Jamboree.  We will not be using paper applications as we have in the pastThe registration site can be accessed from the following sites:

www.MyBSA.org for BSA employees

www.MyScouting.org  for non–BSA employees

As you are aware, your approval of participants and staff from your council is a required part of the registration process. This new online system will allow you to do this electronically.

When an applicant applies online, a copy of his/her confirmation will be sent to their council via e-mail. All of the applicant’s information will be on the confirmation for easy review.

The e-mails councils receive for participant and adult leader applications will have a subject line of “2010 NSJ Participant Application Submitted” and for staff applications,

“2010 NSJ Staff Application Submitted.”

Follow these easy steps to accept or decline the individual’s participation:

  1. Open the e-mail with the participant’s confirmation.
  2. Right–click to copy the registrant’s registration code (or you can enter it exactly as it appears).
  3. Open this link—Jamboree 2010 - Council Approval Form
(Note! Save this link in your Favorites folder in Internet Explorer. You will need it each time you approve/decline an application.)
  1. Right–click to paste (or enter) the registration code in the appropriate blank, click “continue.”
  2. “Click Here” to download and open Council Appraisal form.
(You can save the form to your system for future use or download it each time.)
  3. Mark each category appropriately pertaining to the applicant. Save to your files.
  4. “Browse” to upload the appraisal form to the Council Approval Form.
  5. Then click “yes” or “no” to accept or decline this person’s registration.
  6. Click “continue” to finish.

Once the local council has completed the steps above, the application will automatically be sent to the appropriate region for approval.

Once the region has completed its approval process, the application will automatically be sent to the Jamboree Division–National Council for further processing.

Please complete this approval process promptly. The local council and region approvals/denials are the “triggers” that send the applications to the next step in the process.

As with any new system, there may be unforeseen issues.  If you encounter any problems or have any questions, please call Lonnah Curry at 972-580-2078 or Robin Hunt at 972-580-2380.

Thank you,

Jamboree Division, National Council
