2009 College of Commissioner Sscience Degree Program

Commissioner Basic Training Requirements

To earn “Basic Commissioner Training” you must be currently registered in any Scouting position and complete the following required six (6) classes. This qualifies any registered Scouter to proceed with this program once he or she is registered as a commissioner. Registered commissioners will qualify as being trained and will receive the trained patch and certificate. Class times and classrooms will be published at a later date.

Required Class: COM 100

Signing up for this course at the University of Scouting will require attendance at a single course for all sessions offered during the day. This requirement is not needed if the Basic commissioner course has previously been completed at a Council Training event. Completion of this course by registered Commissioners, either at the University of Scouting or at any other local accredited training course, fully qualifies the student with an Associate of Commissioner Science Degree from this University. This Degree authorizes the registered commissioner to work towards the Bachelor of Commissioner Science Degree at a future University of Scouting session.

Non-Degree Program Recommendations for all Scouters

The following classes are recommended to achieve the level of training indicated in each category.  No degree or certificate is awarded for completion of these classes as they are only offered to enhance the training experience for specific Scouting positions.  Adults in any Scouting position are eligible to pursue the level of training that meets their specific needs.  These are only suggested classes and are not intended to limit any Scouter in attending classes that are considered most important to his or her position or interest in Scouting.
