Class Schedules

Fast Start
Fast Start training is the first step for any new volunteer and is to be taken immediately after a new leader registers. Fast Start is a self-paced course, either web-based or VCR tape, specific to your branch of Scouting. You will find links to Web training at BSA On-Line Training Center. There are also VCR tapes in both council service centers.
New Leader Essentials
New Leader Essentials is an introductory session that highlights the values, aims, history, funding, and methods of Scouting. Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity Scout, and Venturing leaders all take the same course. Leaders who have already completed "Leader Specific Training" are still required to complete this step to be considered trained.
Leader Specific Training
These training courses provide the specialized knowledge a new leader needs to assume a leadership role. Each course is designed for a specific leadership position. Leaders who change leadership roles should check with their Pack Trainer for possible training required for the new role.
Outdoor Skills
This is an outdoors Scout Craft skills course that is only required for direct contact leaders in Boy Scout Troops and Varsity Teams. Recommended for Webelos and Venturing Leaders.
