Skagit County Good Scout Breakfast

The Mount Baker Council invites you to join us at our Skagit County Good Scout Breakfast.

The Good Scout Breakfast is a community event which benefits Scouting’s character-building programs delivered to Skagit County Families. At this year’s Skagit Good Scout Breakfast we are pleased to announce Don Wick, retired Executive Director of the Economic Development Association of Skagit County, as our honoree. Mr. Wick is a well-known personality within Skagit County having served for 30-years with the Economic Development Association of Skagit County.

As the Mount Baker Council focuses on “Building our Second Century” we are excited about the new Family Program, which kicks off in September 2018, with girls being registered for the Cub Scout Program. In February 2019, the program will open up to girls wishing to join all-girl Boy Scout Troops. The exciting changes to the Cub Scout and Boy Scout programs are in addition to our already co-ed Sea Scout, Venturing, and Exploring programs.

The Skagit District Scouting program also features an offering called “Scoutreach”. This program ensures all young people have an opportunity to join Scouting regardless of their circumstances. In Skagit County, the program includes Cub Scout units sponsored by Children of the Valley, and Catholic Housing Services in Mount Vernon. The mission of Scoutreach is to recruit strong adult leaders and to develop solid relationships with chartered organizations in urban and rural communities to ensure that culturally diverse youth have the opportunity to join the Scouting program.

Advancing these initiatives is an important goal for the Skagit District as we work to ensure that all youth and families in Skagit County can find a welcoming, inclusive environment in Scouting, and we will share a brief update on these initiatives at the Good Scout Breakfast.

The Skagit Good Scout Breakfast is a complimentary event. We are looking to raise $20,000 to benefit local Scouting as we recognize our mission to deliver on the promise of Scouting for the entire family.
