New Member Information

Congratulations! You’ve completed your Ordeal and are now a full member in the Order of the Arrow, entitled to all the rights and privileges of membership. However, your journey in the Order of the Arrow is only just beginning. A world of opportunity is now open to you as a member of Sikhs Mox Lamonti Lodge. This page will help you as you take the next steps on your membership journey and explore the wonders of the Order of the Arrow.

Be sure to review the New Member Handbook you received at your Induction, and also to log into to your personal OA Member Portal and take a moment to review the OA and Lodge information included there.

There are a variety of Order of the Arrow events and activities throughout the year that you can attend. Please visit the Programs and Events page and Lodge Calendar for more information!

Get Involved!

Now that you are a member and can proudly wear your sash, it is time to “activate” your membership and see what being an Arrowman is all about.

Being a member in Sikhs Mox Lamonti Lodge is completely what you make of it. Getting involved in the lodge or your local chapter will provide a more satisfying experience, make you a better leader, and develop life-long friendships.

There are a lot of ways to get involved in the Lodge!

Serve as OA Unit Representative: As an OA member, your primary responsibility is to serve your unit. A great way to serve your unit while still being active in the OA is to be your unit’s OA representative.

Attend a Chapter Meeting or Activity: Chapters are the backbone of the lodge. Without them, the lodge would be unable to operate the lodge program at the local level. Attending a chapter function can make a huge impact in our order while still having fun with other Arrowmen from your local community. Contact your chapter leadership to learn about upcoming chapter activities.

Attend a Lodge Event: Lodge events allow you to make new friends with Arrowmen from around the council, participate in unique activities, learn new skills, and so much more. Visit the Lodge calendar to find an upcoming event.

Help Conduct a Unit Election: The unit election is the most important thing we do in the Order of the Arrow. It is not only how we get new members but it is the greatest vessel for educating people on our organization. Contact your chapter leadership about joining their unit visitation teams.

Serve as an Elangomat: Remember the Arrowman that guided you and your fellows clan members through your induction weekend? That is an Elangomat. You can become an Elangomat and help provide a memorable ordeal experience for soon-to-be new members. Contact the Elangomat Chair to learn more about becoming an Elangomat.

Plan or Run and Activity or Training: The lodge officers are always looking for Arrowmen to run and activity at an upcoming event. Contact the Lodge Chief to find out what you can do to help out.

Join a Committee: Joining a committee can be a great way to get involved in the lodge. Committees change from year to year to fit the needs of the program but there have been committees for special events, activities, shows, and more. Contact the Lodge Chief to find out what committees are available.

Help Spread the Word!: Communications is critical to the OA and Sikhs Mox Lamonti lodge, and you can help tell our story by writing for the Octi-Ink lodge newsletter and chapter newsletters, help out on social media, and support programs and events. Contact the Lodge communications team to find out how you can get involved.

Run for Chapter or Lodge Office: Becoming a chapter or lodge officer can be the best experience an Arrowman can have—and is the best way to be a change-maker.
