Thank you from the staff, volunteers, leaders, and youth of the Mount Baker Council!

Thank you for your interest in #GivingTuesday.

What is #GivingTuesday?

Launched in 2012, #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving positioned as a “do-good” alternative to the post-Thanksgiving shopping and consumption associated with Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

When is #GivingTuesday

Giving Tuesday falls on the Tuesday after Black Friday.

How can I help?

Giving Tuesday is a time to “do a good turn” in some way.  Volunteer work and Community Service are great ways to celebrate. You can also make a monetary donation to those causes you wish to support. If you aren’t able to donate yourself, letting friends and family know this is a cause you support is also a great way to support those causes.

Are there other ways to help?

Absolutely.  One of the easiest ways to help is to share your love of Scouting with your friends and family.  Encourage them to help us continue to make positive changes in the lives of American’s Youth by donating to the Mount Baker Council.

Use social media to share the message.  Examples of some messages include:

How do my donations benefit Scouting?

Investing in the Boy Scouts of America creates opportunities for youth to gain memorable experiences and be instilled with values, principles, and skills that will help them develop into the future leaders of our nation. By contributing to Scouting, you will have a profound impact on America. More youth will experience the program that will further instill values and character in their moral fiber.

For the Mount Baker Council, funds raised will be used to develop programs, provide training opportunities, and ensure our Scouts and volunteers have the support they need to be successful

Is my donation to Mount Baker Council tax deductible?

Yes!  #GivingTuesday is the perfect day to get in last minute charitable giving for this year.  We are a 501(c) charity and donations are tax deductible.  Speak with your tax advisor to learn more about tax deductions and how your donation can benefit Scouting and you.
